America: History and Life. Articles and book reviews on United States and Canadian history. For world history since 1450, use Historical Abstracts.

American History in Video. Newsreels, archival footage and important documentaries. 

American Song. Songs by and about children, cowboys, immigrants, Native Americans, pioneers, slaves and others. Songs about politics and civil rights, war and peace.

Area Studies Video Online covers Middle Eastern studies, Latin American, African, Eastern European, Asian, and other global communities. The collection includes films focused on cultural, political, and socioeconomic issues and provides an interdisciplinary resource for every region of the world.

Chicago Tribune. Articles from 1985 to the present. For articles from 1849 to 1984, use Chicago Tribune historical files.

CQ Electronic Library. Research reports on United States government, politics, history, public policy and current events.

Ethnic Newswatch. Articles from alternative-press newspapers, magazines and journals.

GPO. A listing (no full text) of all types of United States government documents, including congressional reports, hearings, debates, records, judiciary materials and documents issued by executive departments.

HarpWeek. Articles from the 19th-century illustrated newspaper Harper's Weekly (1857–1912).

Historical Abstracts. A listing (with some full text) of articles and book reviews on world history since 1450. For United States and Canadian history, use America: History and Life.

Homeland Security Document Library.United States policy documents, presidential directives and national-strategy documents, plus theses and reports from various universities, organizations and local and state agencies.

International Medieval Bibliography. Indexes articles, notes, and similar literature on medieval subjects in journals, Festschriften, conference proceedings, and collected essays. Covers all aspects of medieval studies within the date range of 400 to 1500.

JSTOR. Articles from scholarly journals in the arts and sciences, sometimes going back to the first issues. The Library subscribes to the Arts and Sciences I–VIII and Life Sciences collections.

Military & Government Collection. Articles on military-related journals and general-interest magazines.

The New York Times historical files. Articles from 1851 to 2008. For articles after 2008, use Lexis-Nexis.

Politics and Current Affairs Video Online. Documentaries from around the world covering immigration and border studies, Middle East studies, urban studies, political science, globalization, and human rights.

World History in Video. More than 1,750 documentaries that survey human history from the earliest civilizations to the fall of the Berlin Wall.
