Search Tools: By Subject and A-Z

Search Subject-Specific, Interdisciplinary, or Multiple/Simultaneous Databases

In most instances, you would be best served to start your research in a subject database (found within the Subject Guides below) or within the Academic Search Complete aggregator which contains fulltext articles from core journals across many fields. However, a tool that may be useful if you are looking for fairly comprehensive searching is the Multiple Database Search Tool which performs simultaneous searches across many databases. This broad database may help you discover related content in secondary fields and/or multimedia material not covered in the journal indexes. Due to the large number of results - and the swamping effect - this federated search tool should not be the primary way to search for most topics.
