Academic Search Complete.  Multidisciplinary database of full-text articles from scholarly journals, magazines, government documents and other sources. Best for basic coverage of most topics.

Education Research Complete.  The most comprehensive database of education full-text articles from scholarly journals, magazines, government documents and other sources.

  • Provides deep coverage of education topics across many more journals than above.
  • Consider using the Advanced Search options to limit articles by treatment type (case study, poetry review, etc.).

ERIC.  A significant source of un-published but reviewed education full-text materials, as well as articles from core education scholarly journals, magazines, government documents and other sources. Important supplement for deep coverage of education topics.

Professional Development Collection.  A database of journal articles and other materials related to the continuing education of educators.  An important supplement for deep coverage of continuing education topics.

Scopus. Discover citations (with some full text) of articles in science, medicine, technology, and the social sciences. Includes tracking by citation, and identifying high impact articles for interdisciplinary researchers.

Central Index. Broad coverage of interdisciplinary journals and other material.

Google Scholar provides free searching of keywords and authors across a wide a selection of academic journals.

Books

Follow the scholarly conversation with books! Both edited collections and deep scholarly studies are availabl in print as well as through eBooks. Check our local book catalog for books available here at SXU, then expand your search to all the libraries in the I-Share system (using the drop-down option under the search box) and explore our electronic book options.


Data

Find data using the resources found on our Statistics, our Background Information, and our Handling Information and Data pages. SimplyAnalytics (was SimplyMap) contains United States census data, business data, and business points that can be manipulated and mapped. You can rank locations based on variables, create demographic analyses, and map variables to the county or sometimes the census Block.  If you sign in as a guest, you won’t need to create an account.
