Pandemic Restrictions

During the COVID pandemic, the library is only available for students, staff, faculty, and Alumni.

A valid SXU ID card will be required to enter the library.

Non-affiliated visitors are asked to use other campus locations (Scholars Den, cafeteria) for general study space.

Alumni accounts do not provide access to subscription resources from off-campus.

Alumni can use library workstations and printers after registering with the Alumni Relations office.

  • Some library tools are restricted to currently registered students, staff, and faculty.
  • We validate access through our Open Access proxy; contact the library if you are registered but are not approved.
  • If you cannot pass through this validation screening, consider using the free tools on this site.

On-campus guests may access our "SXU-Guest" network with their own laptops, but will not be able to use our subscription-based tools. See the tools listed on the Tabs within this page for access to some public domain tools.

The tabs on this guide present a variety of tools that allow searching, and in some cases fulltext access, to published literature.

The materials are arranged according to content types: journal articles, web pages and free web materials, and discipline portals.

Public libraries provide access to many powerful full text databases that we do not offer.
