Boom and Bust: America During the Interwar Years (HIST 250): HIST-250 (Fall 2015)

This course analyzes the emergence of modern America between the end of World War I and U.S. entry into World War II.  The period was defined by the economic boom of the 1920s followed by the economic collapse of the Great Depression.  Urbanization, the "Great Migration," the rise of advertising, the evolving role of women, educational reform, and the New Deal led to major changes in consumer culture, social institutions, public policy, and the political landscape. The Information Literacy Project will involve research skills to locate, evaluate, and analyze scholarly sources. Students will be assigned to small groups.  Each group will be responsible for researching one of the following topics listed below.  For background information you can begin with the encyclopedia/dictionary link in Credo Reference to search on these topics.
