About Persistent or Permanent Links:

"Persistent Links" connect users directly to a library database or article by clicking a link embedded in a Web page. The link works every time you click on it and will not expire whether or not they are on the campus network.

Do not use the browser url; they do not work for persistent linking. Always look for "persistent link" or "permalink" in the article.

  • Add to the beginning of the "persistent link" or "permalink" URL.
  • Copy and paste the new link into your document.

Zotero -- the next advance

Consider using the Zotero software to capture your citations ... plus capture fulltext journal articles and web pages. You can then search your materials, and also integrate these citations into your papers using their connectors.
