Informative Speaking

How to Research a Topic

Search for Hardcopy Books and Videos

After searching the SXU library, use the drop-down arrow to see what other books are available to borrow from I-Share Libraries.  Books are loaned for 8 weeks with one renewal for an entire semester.

Search Films on Demand

From Comprehensive Search Tools, choose Films on Demand for films on your topic.

Basic Overview of Public Speaking Good public speakers aren't born that way; it takes practice. A good public speaker understands the audience, audience expectations, and how to deliver the message effectively.

Problem Solution The problem/solution pattern is good for persuasive speeches. An example used is the building of the Great Wall of China to solve the problem of barbarian invasions.
