Statistics & Research II (SOC 295/CJ 295): Databases

Statistics & Research II (SOC 295/CJ 295)

Selecting Databases

Most of your topics are probably interdisciplinary, meaning that your research field is covered by more than one discipline.  Whenever you work on a research project, think about the various disciplines interested in your research:  sociology, criminal justice, psychology, law, medicine, education, business, communications, political science, history, etc.

One good place to begin is the Academic Search Complete database which includes fulltext material from approximately 800 interdisciplinary journals.

Remember, for serious research you will want to supplement this basic search tool with some of the subject-specific journal indexes listed on our subject pages ... found by using the Search by Subjects column.
