Finding and Evaluating Journal Articles: Library Workshop

Key Tools for Identifying Psychology Journal Articles

Interdisciplinary searching of core journals (most will be found immediately as full text):

     Start by searching across a set of approx. 800 interdisciplinary journals using the Academic Search Complete database.

 

Deeper searches of the psychology literature may be performed in the following tool:

  • PsycINFO. Articles and books in psychology and related fields.

    • you may find the Advanced Search options helpful for filtering articles by treatment and other facets

    • you may need to use the Borrow From Other Libraries option to request titles we do not own.

 

Other databases that search for additional materials:

  • Scopus. Articles in science, mathematics, medicine, technology, and the social sciences.

  • Google Scholar provides free searching of keywords and authors across a wide a selection of academic journals.
