PSYCH-101 Principles and Methods of Psychology
The central purpose of Psychology 101 is to introduce students to psychological research.
We will first look at some approaches psychologists take in studying the human person, consider the methods they employ in carrying out their investigations, and review statistics as a tool psychologists use to help organize their data. After that, we will explore some of the fundamental content areas of psychology: child development, intelligence, learning, sensation and perception, memory, personality, psychopathology, and others. As we survey each area, we will briefly look at its major concepts, research findings, current issues, and possible applications.
